Cloud Appliance Library

User Administration and Authentication

User Administration

As a Java application hosted on SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Cloud Appliance Library uses the identity management mechanisms provided by SAP ID Service. This means SAP Cloud Appliance Library delegates authentication and identity management to SAP ID Service. In addition, SAP Cloud Appliance Library uses its own user management mechanisms. You use SAP Cloud Appliance Library to manage users and control who has access to the library.

Default Users

The user who initially logged on to SAP Cloud Appliance Library (https://cal.sap.com/) becomes the first administrator of the library in your own tenant. As such, you control who has access to SAP Cloud Appliance Library and the functions it provides in your own tenant. The user who is the last administrator cannot remove himself or herself from the list of administrator users of SAP Cloud Appliance Library.

Authentication

SAP Cloud Appliance Library uses the authentication mechanisms provided by SAP ID Service. When a user logs on to SAP Cloud Appliance Library, SAP ID Service redirects him or her to SAP Community to verify the resource requester's identity. If the user exists in SAP Community, SAP ID Service allows access to the resource.
